The Cap Canaille is the highest sea cliff of France. The rock face of Cap Canaille is called Falaises de Soubeyrannes. The rock consists of layers of ochre-coloured sandstone. The Corniche des Crêtes road ("route des crêtes") runs over the top of the cliff.
The Cassidine vineyard is exclusively planted, on the territory of Cassis, an "urban vineyard", sheltered by Cap Canaille, plunging from a height of almost 400 meters into the waves of the Mediterranean. It is a "pocket vineyard", only 210 hectares for a production of about 1 million bottles per year. A rare wine that is aged and distributed by twelve winemakers. While the dry and fruity whites are the most famous, the reds and rosés are also recognized.
